1. Digital Products and Subscriptions
1.1 E-Books, Digital Guides, and Downloadable Content
Due to the nature of digital products, we generally do not offer refunds on purchases of e-books, digital guides, or other downloadable content once the content has been downloaded or accessed. However, we consider refund requests on a case-by-case basis:
- If you have technical issues preventing you from accessing the content, please contact our customer support team within 7 days of purchase.
- If you accidentally purchased the wrong digital product, please contact us within 24 hours of purchase.
1.2 Membership and Subscription Services
For our subscription-based services and memberships:
- Trial Periods: If you signed up for a trial period and cancel before the trial ends, you will not be charged for the subscription.
- Monthly Subscriptions: You may cancel your monthly subscription at any time. Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period, after which no further charges will be made. No partial refunds are provided for unused portions of the current billing period.
- Annual Subscriptions: For annual subscriptions, you may request a prorated refund within 14 days of initial purchase. After 14 days, we do not offer refunds for the unused portion of your annual subscription.
2. Physical Products
2.1 Vancouver Merchandise and Books
For physical products, such as printed books, merchandise, or other tangible items:
- Return Period: You may return items in their original condition within 30 days of delivery for a full refund of the purchase price (excluding shipping costs).
- Return Requirements: Products must be unused, in their original packaging, and with all tags and labels intact.
- Return Shipping: Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to our error (wrong item sent, defective product, etc.).
- Damaged or Defective Items: If you receive a damaged or defective item, please contact us within 7 days of delivery, and we will provide a replacement or full refund including original shipping costs.
3. Events and Tours
3.1 Vancouver Walking Tours and Events
For tours, events, and in-person experiences:
- Cancellation by Customer:
- More than 14 days before the event: Full refund minus a 10% administrative fee
- 7-14 days before the event: 50% refund
- Less than 7 days before the event: No refund
- Rescheduling: If you cannot attend on your booked date, you may reschedule at no additional cost if requested at least 48 hours in advance, subject to availability.
- Cancellation by Vancity Blog: If we cancel an event or tour due to weather, insufficient participation, or any other reason, you will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule for a future date.
- No-Shows: No refunds will be provided for no-shows.
4. Photography and Art Prints
For photography prints and artwork:
- Custom Orders: Custom-made or personalized items are non-refundable unless there is a manufacturing defect.
- Standard Prints: May be returned within 14 days if in original condition and packaging.
- Damaged in Transit: If prints arrive damaged, please provide photos of the damage within 48 hours of delivery for a replacement or refund.
5. Gift Cards
Gift cards are non-refundable but have no expiration date and may be used toward any product or service offered on our website.
6. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund or report an issue with your purchase:
- Email us at info@vancityblog.ca with the subject line "Refund Request"
- Include your order number and the date of purchase
- Explain the reason for your refund request
- For physical product returns, wait for our return authorization before shipping items back
7. Refund Processing Time
Once your return is received and inspected, we will process your refund as follows:
- Digital product refunds: Processed within 3-5 business days
- Physical product refunds: Processed within 5-7 business days after receiving the returned item
- The refund will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase
- Depending on your payment provider, it may take an additional 2-10 business days for the refund to appear in your account

We understand that exceptional circumstances may occur. If you experience a significant issue with a product or service not covered by this policy, please contact us, and we will work with you to find a fair resolution.
